Incommando
Never said I was going to use the temporary spare . I just want it underneath the truck for factory correct appearance issues . I bring my other mj that has a full size real spare tire incase I get a flat . If I get two flats I'm screwed lol .I am over by Dayton. I just removed the factory temporary spare from under the bed on my '91 when I did the lift & 4x4 conversion. It holds air. It doesn't look like it was ever used. You could clean/paint the rim and put it under there for show purposes. It is yours if you want it. (Edit: I started this before your other post posted. Oops) Correction: my '88 with the factory tow package & LSD D44 rear had a matching tire/rim that matched the other four. I cannot say for sure that it was the factory equipment but it, too, looked like it belonged there. I don't know if it was an appearance package deal, a tow package deal, or an LSD deal. Strokermjcomanche
Thanks Incommando . I just picked one up , but wouldn't mind having another for my other truck . Daytons a bit far away though are you getting rid of it soon ? What size tire is it? Thanks again .

glundblad
I don't know how helpful this is but I bought my '87 new. It came with a full size spare and rim. Both were exactly the same as what was installed on the truck. 225 wranglers. I wanted the factory look too so in order to stick with wrangler RWL tires, I went with Wrangler Silent Armor but It had to be 235. The unrestored photo in the link below shows what 225's looked like. Those are not the factory tires but they are factory size. The factory spare tire and rim are visible on the floor toward the front. I don't recall personally if all trucks were like that but mine had LSD/D44 which was referred to as "Optional heavy duty axle". I assume it required a full size spare. 235 still looks factory to me. 225 looked a little undersized IMO. Also on that same link is the factory window sticker. It doesnt list anything about a full size spare as an option. It mentions something about 5 rims. BTW, Kudos for keeping it stock. http://comancheclub.com/topic/20543-comanche-of-the-month-mar-2010-glundblads-1987/
Strokermjcomanche
Wow Glundblad nice truck !!! Glad to see an original owner mj even though it left you for a bit .I also have the factory LSD 44 in my truck and I'm the second owner of mine but the cable was snapped clean off and I'm guessing the spare is in a ditch or by now recycled into something else . I never thought to look at my window sticker/ build sheet to confirm which spare it came with . Ill run what I have now until I can decipher exactly what the truck had .
