It has been hot lately. I got sick from the heat about a week ago. It sneaks up on you and you don't notice till its too late. Stay cool, fall will be here soon.

You got a Stearman? You've been holding out on us, Jim.

I'm thinking the Dos Eguis guy needs to look for a new title.

Think I mentioned it a couple times. Since this is a Jeep forum and not aviation I never went into details on it. Also got a Ryan PT 19. Got my A&E license based on it's rebuild. And a Stinson 108-3. I like them old planes. They all had been wrecked when I got them and I rebuilt them.

I wanted to learn to fly. I got 3hrs under my belt and ran out of flying cash. If you need a test pilot, I think I can remember the basics.

I know what you mean. If I had to pay for my lessons, I'd still be walking. Had a deal with the FBO where I would work at the airport and instead of them paying me cash I took it out in flying time.

Do you have a build thread on an aviation forum somewhere? I'd love to read through em. I can't allocate money to aviation right now, but hopefully after some active duty time I'll have a chunk of change to spend on building hours. Granddad learned on a Stearman before he moved onto SBD Dauntless and Helldivers. Naval aviators these days rely so much on automation for carrier landings, it's amazing what they did back then.

Sounds familiar. Same way I did it at the Ft Eustis VA Flying Club. Worked the counter and serviced the aircraft until I got my private. Cost me nothing except my time, which I enjoyed.
