TheDude Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I was changing my speedo cable earlier and noticed this, and maybe one more ring loose in the tail of the transfer case.. So what is it, How bad is it to drive like this, and how hard is it to fix? Thanks
Jeep Driver Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 That ring is the back of the bearing stop. At some point the drive shaft as been forced forward into the TC. You'll need a new tail shaft cone. Fix it NOW.
