cade leach Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 i have an 89 mj 4.0 automatic. and it struggles to start every time I start it, it has never not started, but always has trouble. some said it was just something all jeeps do and i wanted to know if that is true or not, and if there were any upgrades to help. i am tired of getting strange looks every time i start up my truck.
cade leach Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 ive seen some threads kind of close to this and said that upgraded fuel injectors would help but I'm not sure what to do. i know the basics about trucks but I'm no mechanic
HOrnbrod Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 It's a Renix. That's what they do. Start with the basics. Do a good tuneup; new cap and rotor, plugs, plug wires, etc. Read through Cruiser's tips and clean up / refresh all electrical grounds. JeepcoMJ Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 It should improve electrical continuity and allow the PCM to pick up the crank sensor signal quicker...this will help start faster. Refreshing the grounds helps out all sensors
