Are mj and xj speedo cables different? My 89 mj started life as a 2wd and now I've made it 4wd and has cruise but now I need a longer cable. I ordered one for an xj but the end won't fit transfer case to small

Do you still have the cable out of the 4wd donor ? You can use the one out of the donor . If you don't have the donor cable anymore you can order a new one or go to a junkyard and grab one .
