Megadan
I also hate toppers. That's kind of why I brought up the canvas topper idea. Like this one. http://www.softopper.com/jeep-comanche-soft-top-truck-cap-details.aspxYou can fold that one forward and they even sell a cover/storage bag to hold it together when it is folded up. Honestly, if I didn't have a long bed I would get one of those. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than another canvas topper that I found, and I don't think that one even folds up. benjy_26
That's bad as hell! Looking into that one for sure!
benjy_26
That's bad as hell! Looking into that one for sure! I have a short bed, so a topper would make it look funky. When I had one on my long bed diesel Ram.... that actually looked alright.
92tanMJ
You did not say how many others are going with you. I am thinking there will be one or two vehicles and the company is not providing a truck? Personally, you should take the Grand Cherokee and tow a trailer for your supplies. You said the Grand Cherokee is dead reliable so you can ditch several hundred pounds of spares and tools "just in case". False. False. False. I don't care how realiable any car/truck is. Ever heard the expresions "$#!& happens" and "I would rather have it and not need it. Then need it and not have it." That is just wrong and bad advice. I was going to suggest the truck 'bed' thing Impluse said. http://www.yotatech.com/f132/t100-mods-128411/ https://www.google.com/search?q=Truck+Bed+Sleeping+Platform&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=o9MPU4n3Iefo2gXY_oGIBQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg&biw=1393&bih=630&dpr=2 https://www.google.com/search?q=Truck+Bed+camping&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=K9QPU_bxGuab2wX5x4EI&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAg&biw=1393&bih=630&dpr=
Comanche County
I'd take the MJ unless you want ten years of dust inside the ZJ.

benjy_26
Lol not at all. The ZJ has actually pulled service as a support/chase vehicle during a couple of races. Dust does not phase it, and the body is far from cherry. I do cleanbit VERY well onba semi regular basis and I'm quite surprised with the uni-body's toughness andbdurability. The hatch still opens and closes without scrapingband the dash sits tight on the firewall, despite all the high speed bumps and jumps it's soaked up...
