The One That Got Away 1992 Eliminator

Recommended Posts

Ive been passionate about cars since i could remember, and bought my first 1967 Beetle when i was 12 years old ( 28 years old now ), from that point on i havnt stopped and have owner probably 200 cars ( thats not a typo )

Currently i have

- 1960 Beelte - Bought it in high school

- 1983 Ur-Quattro - Show Car

- 1983 Rabbit GTI - Owned for 12 years

- 1998 A6 Avant 2.5 TDi - Being shipped from Germany currently

And ofcourse i just sold this 1992 Jeep Comanche Eliminator last week.

Ive always been crazy about VW/Audi's and then all other German cars, then all other European cars and then the rest. I enjoy and respect any car that someone has put time and effort into, but prefer interesting cars.

I try to purchase 3-4 cars a year to fix and sell that no one else would save, these have mostly been VW's but I'm trying to diversify, and ive got a few friends who have been into Jeep XJ's recently so i thought i would look

for one that needs some love.

In my search i came up on this written off MJ at auction. This is a salvage auction where you have to carry a special licence to be able to buy and is not open to the public, now the type of people who buy at these auctions

are either wreckers, scrap metal companies of auto body shops and generally the only person who would be interested in buying something like this Jeep at that auction would be the Wreckers, Scrap Metal people, or

on a rare occassion if someone happens to have a soft spot for this truck they may have bid on it to fix up but in the case of this jeep that wasnt going to happen.

The only thing i knew about the truck was from these next 6 photos. I knew Zero history, i didnt even know the Mileage ( however i did look it up through our emmisions testing website through the VIN ) so i knew what the mileage

was when last tested in June.

Now ofcourse from these photos you really get to see the raw truck and you have to know what to look for and what to look passed. No one washes these cars prior to the photos or preps them in any way.

I bought this thing sight unseen and had to wait to have it towed home before i got to inspect what i got myself into.
