big66440 Posted January 10, 2014 Share Posted January 10, 2014 I'm going to be replacing my timing set this weekend and installing a replacement harmonic balancer from Mopar but it says the oil slinger can not be used with this updated part, I know what it's for but do you guys think it will be a big deal to run my truck without it? 87Warrior Posted January 10, 2014 Share Posted January 10, 2014 The slingers main purpose is to act as a shim between the crank and balancer. The new Mopar balancer does not need this shim.
