but the MJ is driveable in 2wd again.

Had to ride my freaking bicycle to the parts store this morning to get a u-bolt.

They've only been on there since last may, already rusted solid, I hate Ohio.

broken u-bolt got my hand though, hurts a lot more today than it did yesterday. suckage.

On to the 8.8 swap!

pics won't do you any good.

No swelling, no bruising.

I just don't bruise easily, it's a good thing, cause I'm casper the freaking ghost, a bruise would look scarey.

Lets just say there was cursing involved.

The u bolt snapped, then the impact bent it, and swung it around into the back of my wrist before I could release the trigger.

I get hurt everytime I touch the Comanche. Last time, I held a spark plug wire while it was running and screamed as it shocked my twice. Time before my hand slipped off a wrench and put a hole through my fingernail. First time I've ever had a hole in my nail.

If it is really bad you may want to go for an XRAY. You could have broken a finger up high in your palm. Not so noticable but quite painful...I would think there would be swelling though...

Hope it gets better fast!!

BTW...buy some ANTI SLEEZE. Its your BEST friend for parts thet need to be removable!!!!

Indiana is like that. My 00 TJ rusted as I drove it off the lot.

My XJ...back in the day I spent 2 months in my parent's driveway lifting it by myself with hand tools. I had to cut through at least 3 LCA and spring bolts with this:

 What a PITA!

wow, that sucks.

I HAD the MJ driveable for about 20 miles, then the second d35 blew up.

have I mentioned I hate d35's?

so, I'm done with it, it's gonna sit until I get the honda ready for DD status, and I have the 8.8 ready to go in.

What's up with you & D35 problems?

I ran my XJ on its D35 for 2 years on 33s with no problems till my axle bearings went out (original bearings & never serviced by me).

Good luck with the 8.8 swap, I can't find any locally - all the junkyards here want $300+ for one...

well, the first one just checked out one day. I'm sure it had something to do with the locker and 34's. Just a matter of time.

The second one, well that was my fault.

I finished up late sunday night, had rtv'd the cover, forgot to put fluid in it the next morning.

THe housing burned my hand when I touched it after it locked up.

Pinion bearings are toast.

Funny chit there^^^^

I woke up in a panic at about 2AM Sunday morning, and called my neighbor (the one with the Chevelle in the other post), to make sure he remembered to put oil in it. We did all that work pulling, replacing the RMS and installing the new pan....we pre-oiled the new filter and put it on while the engine was still on the stand, and everything, just didn't put any new oil in it

He remembered the oil around 10:00 that night. Woulda been a BIG ooopser there.

yeah, kinda upset about that one.

I rtvd the cover late sunday night, and ddn't feel like waiting the hour until I could put fluid in it.

Had to get a new ubolt in the morning anyway.

So, went and got new u bolt, bolted it up, and forgot the gear lube.
