Swaping Renix Gauge Questions

swaping a bad cluster out of my new truck,

putting in my known good from previous

both are compatible so thats not the issue,

 

what I'm wondering is if its possibe to pull the speedo out with the cluster and swap to the other one for correct km?

It is possible on most older gauge clusters, but it can be very delicate and tedious work.  I am unfamiliar with these trucks specific cluster setup to give you an actual opinion on it, but I did this same thing on two other vehicles of similar vintage.  I was able to remove the needles, face plate, and access the odometer/trip rollers from the front.  I had to go buy a set of jewelers screw drivers to do this.   Hopefully someone who is more knowledgeable about these clusters chimes in.

Easy to do. I helped a friend swap a cluster with a tachometer into his truck -- the "new" one had much higher mileage, so we swapped the original speedo into the new cluster. Each speedo is held into the cluster by only two (three?) screws.
