ANACORTES, Wash. —

An Oak Harbor family devastated by an alleged drunken driving crash is mourning one teen--and praying her twin sister survives.

Alysha Pickler, 18, and twin 17-year-old sisters Janesah and Janeah Goheen were heading to a Seattle haunted house for Halloween Thursday night. Officers say 53-year-old Ira Blackstock crossed the centerline and slammed into them. Janeah was killed. Janesah was flown to Harborview Medical Center and rushed into surgery. She's in serious condition.
According to court papers, Alysha is suffering amnesia and doesn't remember what happened.

"It's been a really hard day for everyone. A lot of people were crying. There was a lot of sadness," said Larissa Escamilla, a classmate at Oak Harbor High School.

"It's just been sad. A lot of hugs and stuff," said classmate Dallas Breilein.

Officers say Blackstock showed 6 of 6 possible signs of intoxication. His eyes were watery and his voice was weak. A Bible and pamphlet for Alcoholics Anonymous were found in the back seat. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and assault.

The twins, who have three other sisters, lost one of them in a car crash 5 years ago. A memorial is set up for the 23-year-old in the family's front yard. Friends now praying for Janesah say they only hope this site of grief does not grow.

"I really feel bad for her family and I hope everything will get better as fast as it can," said Escamilla.

Very sad story.

Not that it matters (because of the tragedy) but: In the video, at approx. 2.12 it shows the vehicle the young ladies were driving...can't tell if its a Toyota Camry or a Hyundai Sonata, but it appears another MJ is sitting in the impound yard beside the victims' vehicle. The perp was driving a Ford Mustang.  It says nothing about the speeds they were travelling at, but the video of the road they were on indicates a two lane highway.

We've had this conversation in the forum before - please don't drive after drinking. It's just not worth it.
