Minuit Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 My MJ will see as few shops as possible because I have very little patience for incompetence on the part of people who don't care. If something screws up because of work done to the truck, I would much rather have myself to blame than a shop. I justify my refusal to take it in by saying that it's a rare oddball of a vehicle that demands specific attention. I guess the roughly $600 in labor costs I've saved helps too. I do like the guys I took my MJ to to get the A/C fixed and my catalytic converter replaced (I don't have a welder at home) but that's pretty much it. Of course, trust isn't really my strong suit and as far as I'm concerned 90% of mechanics are out to screw people out of money.
johnj92131 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 A good repair shop is worth paying for. I have been using the same shop for the last 13 or 14 years. He is not perfect, but when his guys make a mistake, he owns up to it and fixed the issue. He has done it twice when I had no clue there was an error.
