Tom Tom
Ok please bear with me. I have a 91 mj it was 2wd and a long bed with the 4.0 auto. I took a 4.0 with the trans and transfer case out of a 94 xj to make the mj 4wd and to have a stronger low mileage engine. I also changed the engine bay wire harness. Now I am at the point of firing up the engine. The engine cranks real strong, I have spark but no fuel. I used a voltmeter and have no power to the pump. My chiltons and Haynes manual have not been no help and I am still scratching my head. Is there a way to download a mj service manual for free. I come from a xj background and this is my first mj . When greatlakes xj .com was still around they had free pdf service manual downloads and I had them on my laptop but on the down side had to get a new laptop because of the old ones motherboard fried, and I no longer have the download and the web site to download them is no longer there. Any help and advice would be great. Thank you all in advance Tom
HOrnbrod
The 91 still has the ballast resistor on the left inner fender well. Check for power there. If none, the problem is most likely in the PDC, so try swapping the FP relay with another - they are all the same relays. Also the pump is grounded behind the left tail lamp. Make sure it's okay. 87Warrior
Is there a way to download a mj service manual for free. Not for the 91/92. I have had good luck with this 91 digital reproduction FSM:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Jeep-Cherokee-Comanche-Wrangler-Shop-Service-Repair-Manual-CD-Factory-OEM-/230818320537?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item35bdd81099&vxp=mtr
Tom Tom
The 94 xj harness for the engine compartment does not have wires for the ballast resistor. But on the bright side I do have the bed off the truck and did not know it is grounded with the tail lights. Also I have found not all the connects match under the dash so I am in the process of swaping that out to. My oringanal thinking was to use the old mj harness in the cab but now that's not happing
MancheKid86
take a wire, hook it up to the engine bay ground, and hook the other end up to the fuel pump ground, should fire right up, had the same issue when i took my 89's bed off
