TCAdkins Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Just finished ordering the rest of my lift kit and going to install once I get everything in the mail. Anyone have any tips on what I should replace while I have the trucks suspension out while doing the lift? I'm looking for things that don't get replaced during usual lifts. Like certain bushings or bolts or parts. And please, use the actual name of the piece you are talking about. Also before I order shocks anyone have a preference for quality to cost ratio?
Wrz Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I personally like the old man emu and bilstein shocks, They give a nice ride and handle good off road. As far as replacing parts, i usually inspect all the control arm bushings, sway bar bushings and anything that looks worn i would replace
TCAdkins Posted August 2, 2013 Author Posted August 2, 2013 The truck is my daily driver so I don't want it to be in pieces for longer then need be. I think I'm just going to order it all now.
Wrz Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 And I went with the bilstein 5100's What size lift and brand did you end up going with?
TCAdkins Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 And I went with the bilstein 5100's What size lift and brand did you end up going with? It a mix of rubicon express and iron rock offroad
HOrnbrod Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I've had both OME and Bilstein 5100 shocks. I junked the Bilsteins after 2K miles because they rode like a buckboard. Went back to OMEs - happy now. Hope you like the Bilsteins.
