MmMBurritos
I'm fairly new to jeep ownership however recently I've fell into an issue with the battery which is less than a yea old dying out on me overnight. So I charged my battery back to full, grabbed my multimeter and began searching for a parasitic draw on the battery. After I turn off the truck I use the black which is hooked up to com to the negative battery terminal and the red on the negative cable. My current DC reading is around 12.4-12.5 while the truck is off. It seems as though I have everything connected the way I was told but 12 amps seems really high. Anyway I've found that there is a little device towards the front that is setting it off. Can anyone identify this box? its not affiliated with the main battery line but there are a lot of wires coming out of it.
jimoshel
Starter relay. The only time it should be drawing any current is when the key is in the 'start' position.
cruiser54
Did you unplug the wires individually?
