jimoshel Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Anybody got any tips on how to remove the left front shock without having to remove the brake master cylinder? I got it off and going after a new set now. Had to remove the BMC from the booster and was able to get a 3/8 deep well socket with a u joint on the nut enough to get it off. There's gotta be a easier way.
1987Comanche Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 13MM ratcheting combination wrench (Gearwrench, etc) and a small set of vice grips to keep the rod from spinning.
Eagle Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Or put a box-end wrench on the nut and use a pipe wrench on the shock dust cover to unsrew the stud from the nut. When replacing, put some anti-sieze on the threads and you can turn the shock tight enough by hand to compress the bushings properly.
jimoshel Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 Other than a 8mm I don't have any ratcheting box ends. I do have a pipe wrench. Any way it's a moot point now. Got 'em both swapped and everything back together.
