redcomanche
Hey guys, another hood release cable question. I went to open my hood yesterday and the plastic piece connected to the cable broke off. I am still able to open the hood by taking pliers and pulling on the metal bit, but I would like to have a more permanent solution then just carrying pliers around with me  . So my question is, can I just get a new plastic piece or do I have to buy a whole new cable. I have a 1991 sport truck with the 4.0L (if that helps) Thanks! -Peter

MJ/XJ hood releases are notorious for having issues... The one on my XJ went screwy, and I just put the Daystar hood pin kit in it. I plan on doing the same kit to my MJ just as a preventative measure. Nothing sucks worse than needing a jump and having to disassemble your whole front end to get to your battery. FrankTheDog
18.99 and some lube for the pivot points and latches. Show them some love and they won't break on you. It's that simple, really.
