GrumpysMJ
Afternoon everyone. Getting ready to install a new hood release cable. Found it feeds through the firewall just to the left of the fuse panel, two screws mounting it to the firewall. Do I need to remove anything else or just the fuse panel screws to move the panel out of the way. I'm sure some of you have done this many times, so I'm picking your brains/knowledge. Thanks, GrumpysMJ :USAflag:
GrumpysMJ
Oh, and for info, cable hasen't broken. Its the original and I figured for the few dollars it costs I'd replace it to avoid the horror stories I've read, about broken cables. Also replacing all the hardware, catches n latches. Alexia
It is really that simple to swap out. Just do not shut the hood until you are finished. :P
jimoshel
Always expecting the worse, and seldom disappointed, I always place something on the header so if the hood does fall it won't catch. A block of wood,4X4 for example will keep the hood from latching. It will also warp the hood like crazy. A small tractor or lawn mower tire will work while lessening the chance for hood damage.
