Guanaco.13 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I found on cragslist a guy selling a ba10 5 speed trans, 231 t-case and rear drive shaft I was wondering if the 231 t-case will bolt up to my 1989 jeep comanches automatic trans or will i need to use the ba10 trans
Guanaco.13 Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 I still need a front axle, front drive shaft, four wheel drive selector
relyt120 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 2wd aw4 cannot bolt to a transfer case without significant modification.
Guanaco.13 Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 Is a Used ba10 trans and 231 t-case worth 150 used
mvusse Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 And you don't want the Peugeot transmission. It's a piece of poo. Get a 4wd AW4, the transfer case that's behind it, speedometer cable, the front drive shaft and the front axle from a 1987-1990 4.0 Cherokee. Then have your current rear driveshaft shortened.
Guanaco.13 Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 They claimed that the trans and t-case worked fine until the truck was hit in the front end and totaled
mnkyboy Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I would stay away from the BA10/5 if you want a 5spd find an AX15.

Where is a good place to look for the parts
89Comanche4x4 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 you can get a Peugeot but they will not last, best bet is find an ax-15, seeing as youre doing the mods anyways. Its easy to do and well worth the time. if you can find one
JeepComanche89 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Yeah I converted to a AX-15. If you get one from years 95 and over iirc, thell have the external slave in the bell housing. You can get most of the other parts from rockauto.com. I boght a new slave assembly from there.
