gconcilio Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I have an 88 mj with a 4 cylinder engine. The vent tube from the front of the valve cover to the air cleaner is in bad shape. Is this necessary? What will it hurt if i eliminate it? Can I just plug the opening in the valve cover and at the air cleaner? Thanks.
54bobby Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 mine was in bad shape too. just took a length of hose and at advance auto i found a pcv fresh air intake elbow in the help section from an 88 camaro that fit perfect.
jimoshel Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 It sucks clean air in from the filter thru the engine. Engine will run very well without it but will be admitting dirty air into the engine.
