Np231 & Aw4 Question(S)

Are all AW4's a 21 spline output shaft, or did they also change in 89? If they still are 21 spline, is it possible to find an NP231 stock bolted onto an AW4? I'm wondering this in case they're easier to find at the jy, because there tend to be lots of 4wd automatic XJs.

I believe the AW-4 switched to 23 in 1990.
