jimoshel Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Gonna pull a 249TC and swap a 242 in it's place. Think the shaft length and spline count will be no problem. Is there anything to look out for?
mvusse Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 249 shift pattern is a little different from the 242, meaning you may need to change the shift gate as well. Also, if needed and if I remember correctly the input shaft can be swapped between similar year 231/242/249.

Comanche County Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Some will bolt right in, if they were behind the same transmission. But sometimes the input shaft needs to be changed out.
