RDAN1
I'm swapping in an AX15 to replace a BA10 and notice the backup light wiring for the AX15 is different from the BA10 (2 wire vs 4 wire). Can anyone advise the "fix" for this so the backup lights will work with the AX15 tranny? Or point me to a thread that shows how to deal with this? I've done a forum search but couldn't locate an answer. Thanks
Blue88Comanche
I just spliced a connector. I don't have the MJ with me at the moment but I thought both had 2 wires that went to the reverse light switch. I will send a pic of what i have when i get off work, hopefully that will help
Blue88Comanche
ok so not the best pic but it gets the job done. I had a connector that plugged into the one for the ax15 so I took that and replaced the ba10's plug.
RDAN1
OK here's a photo of the 2 switches. BA/10 on the left and AX15 on the right. So in order to get the backup lights to work with the AX15 tranny, all I need to do is splice in the 2 wries going to the original BA10 switch to the 2 wires on new Ax15 switch. Correct? Megadan
That is also what I did. I even cheaped out and grabbed the wiring from the ZJ I pulled my Bellhousing and TC for my swap, cut, soldered, shrink wrapped, and done. The funny thing was, that actually fixed my reverse lights, which never worked on the BA-10 (I probably had a bad switch). It's a really simple circuit, so I wouldn't sweat it too much.
