sinkrun Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I think its time to get one of these tired of begging to use one. I was looking on ebay and see them from 50.00 to 300.00 will the cheap ones work and if not what do I need?
lostissues Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I got one of the Bluetooth ones that you hookup to your Android phone and it works awesome. that may be a different route to go. obd2 unit was about 15-20 bucks, the torque software was 7 ish.
sinkrun Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 IS this it, says it comes with software for PC the wife has a android phone but with the terribly bad service at the new house we may be getting rid of them? I need to know for sure if it will work with a laptop. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMALLEST-ELM327 ... ls&vxp=mtr
1987Comanche Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I bought an OBD Link SX USB to OBD II adapter and it came with some basic OBD WIZ software. I can see the basic parameters everyone mentioned, active & pending codes, and I/M flag status. They have specific software packages for GM, Ford, etc but I haven't taken the plunge. It's not as good as the Snap On Solus or OTC/SPX scan tools but it was around $40 (as opposed to $4,000+).
