hokie83 Posted September 2, 2012 Share Posted September 2, 2012 I took apart the upper end of my steering column, and I need some adult supervision. I'm having problems getting it back together. What's the big trick that I'm missing? When i manage to get it all to go together, the key doesn't want to go into the "LOCK" position without a little force. The plunger that is supposed to stick out and engage the lock plate is barely sticking out of its hole. I'm assuming there is some process for setting the position of the little half-toothed wheel that mates up with the key lock mechanism. This is a royal pain in the backside. Help!
