How important is it to preserve these pieces?

I have already cut them out and think that i could reuse them if i had to, but it would'nt be easy, what are they for anyway?

mine were pitted pretty bad so i sand blasted them to get rid of all rust. dunno if I'm right or not, but i thought about it and just figured they tied the unibody together helping strengthen it. atleast it sounded good to me. I'm sure some people will chime in and say they are unnessary, but the factory did put them there for a reason.
