mpace6a
So, the new 2.8 i bought for my '86 mj does not have the slot in the block for a mechanical fuel pump because its out of a newer s10. The problem is i have 3 lines coming from the gas tank, one is the main fuel line, one goes to the charcoal canister, and the third i believe is supposed to be a return line to the tank. So my question here is what do i do with the return line, since the electric pump i bought only has one in and one out?
86FUBAR
I put a rubber plug over the line with a hose clamp , if your electric pump needs a regulator you could get a bypass regulator and utilize the return line so the engine always has cool fuel going to it . I don't know if you have to get that thing smoged but it won't pass if that line isnt pluged .
mpace6a
No, not going to get it smogged. Removing as much emissions crap as possible. ANd the pump doesnt need the regulator since its specifically for carb'd vehicles
35 Dollars
Then just plug the return line, and be done with it. The return line should have been hooked to the fuel regulator in case there's an overabundance of fuel and it needs to be sent back to the tank. Or something like that.
