thedave360 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Been a while since I been on the forums, but I'm in the midst of assembling my engine after having it rebuilt. Unfortunately I've lost most of the bolts for my oil pan and valve cover. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place where I can get a kit of replacements instead of having to find the sizes and then figure out what hardware stores have these things. ARP doesn't have any kits and neither does Jegs or Summit as far as I could find. The dealership wanted $150 for a kit, and since money doesn't grow on trees, I'd like to find something cheaper. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Alexia Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 I looked up the sizes and bought all of them at Lowes. All of the valve cover bolts use the same depth and size into the head. I used threaded rod cut up into sections to recreate the nut studs. Then I promptly forgot all the sizes. :P
jimoshel Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 What engine? For $25 I can send the complete set for a 2.5 or a 4.0. Used.

flint54 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 A handful of small fasteners is usually free at the boneyard, and guaranteed to be correct.
