so contacted jeep to get a detailed build sheet,they said I have an unrecognized vin, so they sent me on to another dept. They also said a unrecognized vin. checked the vin on truck it was correct and same as title. Is there anyone here that wants to have a go at it? vin 1JTHL6512GT012947 :dunno:

They don't go back that far is why it's unrecognized. They had a build sheet for my 90 MJ but not for my 88 XJ. Nothing to sweat over.

Your '86 was built by AMC, not by Chrysler. It's not in the Chrysler system.

 

There was usually a copy of the build sheet either in the seat (typically between the zig-zig spring and the padding of the seat bottom), or in the drivers side door between the trim panel and the waterproof barrier.

i will have to check those places, thanks. figured that the jeep was too old, but was wondering why jeep didn't tell me if it was.
