  1. had this issue off and on since i got this truck recently. specs are 1986 custom 4wd lwb 2.5 tbi with 122k on the clock problem is intermittent stumble upon acceleration, trouble idling upon start up until i let it run for a couple min with a slight foot on the gas, won't start ever unless giving it some gas, then when i stop and idle sometimes it revs high, don't know how high cause i got the idiot light setup, and when i turn it off it sometimes diesels then backfires out the exhaust. what i have tried, seafoamed through the fuel system, injector cleaner, adjusted the ias motor i believe, not sure that is the name but it is the little plunger deal on the pass side front of the throttle body that the throttle hits in idle. seemed to fix it but dropped the rpms too much i think. now it started the revs and backfires and stumbles. also looked for and replace any broken or cracked vac lines. so any ideas before i through money in the wrong direction?
  2. i'm thinking that the box is your ecu and the hose is the heat hose to the drivers side
  3. do you have a stock steering gear box, if so, how much to send to 84511
  4. that is nice! :clapping:
  5. Thanks jpdriver1, those are what i am looking for. How did you like them and were they much of a pain to change. Been researching and they don't look too bad.
  6. Does any one have a good part # for the door lock cylinders, manual, for a 1986 comanche custom. After my xj got stolen cause i couldn't lock the doors  , I would like to remedy the same on my new baby. i do realize that the part might be universal for several years so any help is appreciated.
  7. i will have to check those places, thanks. figured that the jeep was too old, but was wondering why jeep didn't tell me if it was.
  8. so contacted jeep to get a detailed build sheet, they said I have an unrecognized vin, so they sent me on to another dept. They also said a unrecognized vin. checked the vin on truck it was correct and same as title. Is there anyone here that wants to have a go at it? vin 1JTHL6512GT012947 :dunno:
  9. The Beave, here in Blanding, UT 4 corners area about 70 mi south of Moab, 1st comanche purchased 3 days ago but been eyeballing around the corner from my house for a couple years now. 86 custom with 2.5, longbed, 4x4, 4.10 gears in 30 and 35(polished turd i know) 120 k on the clock and now 92 cherokee wheels ,and until i get bigger meat, with 237/75/15. I am not spankin new to jeeps, i have had a cherokee for 4 years and had a second cherokee for 2 until a local drunk native decided to steal it, 2nd was my wheeler. liked the cherokee alot and missed my truck so i decided to knock out both and get the comanche. lovin it so far.
  10. had to swap the rear out of my wifes xj last spring, she had the 35 with 3.07 and a manual trans too. wow what a difference when i went to an 8.25 with 3.55 gears. i can go up provo canyon, a decent mountain pass here in ut, in 5 th gear. + now i get 20 or better mpg. now i just need a front with 3.55 so she can use 4wd again. go with the upgrade, you will like it!
