Fuel gauge adjustment?

In my 91 my fuel gauge reads 1/4 low and i was wondering how i could fix this problem

are you able to get a full tank of gas into it?

I fill it up and it says 3/4

well, you fill it til the pump stops. but how much can you fit in the tank? it's possible that the problem is in the tank and it's causing the pump to sense the tank is full and to stop.

 

or the float in the tank has a point in which it gets stuck.

 

or the fuel gauge is faulty.

 

does the low fuel light come on about the time it's supposed to?

I don't have a fuel light and its just reading 1/4 below like it runs out with the needle 1/4 below E

pretty sure we all have a fuel light that comes on when the fuel is really, really low. :hmm: ever run out of gas?

 

so your gauge can read below the E? I wonder if you can just kinda move the needle over like i can in my van...

Yes i ran out of gas a few times and i tried moving thr needle but as soon as i turn thr key it goes right back i was wondering if there was adjustment
