ZJ_flexxxer
so last year i swapped a set of wj knuckles onto my d30 on my zj for 2 reasons. i drilled them for over the knuckle steering and for the bigger brakes. my brakes pretty much suck on my mj and my local junkyard has about 4 wj's currently, so i was wondering if the wj knuckles will even swap onto my 2wd straight axle?? has anyone done this??? Eagle
What are you going to run for brakes and hubs? The WJ has a different wheel bolt circle than the XJ and MJ.
ZJ_flexxxer
you just carefully drill the 5x4.5 bolt pattern in the wj rotor. worked great for me on my zj. i've also heard that 2wd ford sport trac rotors will work as well. i've successfully completed this swap once, my only concern is that the wj knuckles won't swap onto the 2wd front axle. i've googled and searched several forums and haven't found anything. i guess i might be the first one to try this swap on a 2wd mj. Jeep Driver
When I swapped my 2x for 4x I compared the two axles and nothing really looked similar. I know the calipers would not have swapped, not sure of the knuckles. You could just use a D30 as a dummy and pull the axles.

I'm looking to do the same in my 91. In researching, the WJ knuckles will swap over to a 94+ 2WD XJ beam front axle since the 94 and up 2WD and 4WD use the same knuckle. But I'm not sure if it's really worth looking for a 94+ 2WD axle to add the slightly "bigger" front disk brakes than I already have. Still lookin' at it though....
