96 xj Manual door lock sticking

The door lock on the front drivers side manual locks is sticking not unlocking with the key. I get inside and have to flip the lock unlock leaver several times while opening and closing the inside door release handle. I tried spraying it from the outside and its not helping slowing getting worse. I am planing on taking it apart and spraying it more or should I just get replacement parts while its apart? I read on the net that the lock tumbler leaver gets bent and causes this? Looking for ideas as I hate working inside doors.

The plastic clips that hold the linkage rods in place can also become worn causing them to bind or fall out of alignment. They are cheap to replace and can be found at most auto parts stores.
