groaning issue

developed this groaning whirring noise in my engine,

its on the passenger side,

can't figure out what it is

does it when the engine is warm+cold

 

kinda sounds like a cat semi dying,

could it been from water on alt?

Get a mechanic's stethoscope or use a wooden dowel/large screwdriver to put on the suspected noisemaker. Put your ear to the other end of whatever you use. Be careful of spinning pulleys and belts.
