Fuel pump adapter ring

I've never heard of an adapter. The XJ (pre-97) and MJ fuel pump/sender assemblies mount in the tank the same way, with a lock ring and O-ring. The issue is that the arm on the MJ sender is positioned opposite to the way it is for the XJ. There's no way an adapter ring can correct for that.

 

Am I missing something?

Ahh, I was under the impression that they mounted differently. Any way to correct the issue with the sender arm or do I just live with it reading off? I'm doing the Renix to HO Swap.

Do you still have the original one. If so just keep it, the pump is big enough to run a HO motor with, no need to swap any of that stuff just for the motor swap.

 

I'm mainly trying to keep the gauge working correctly. I think I've figured it out.

I can use an MJ tank without the slosh pan and use the XJ sending unit.
