ekulrenlig
Got about a foot of snow and it's probably in the negatives with the windchill. The MJ won't start. Chugs, but won't turn over, almost like it's not getting any gas. I only had about a gallon of gas left in my tank. Is it possible the fuel lines got ice in them? Everything else seems normal, I haven't been having any problems with it. What could the problem be, and what can I do to fix it? I have one of those heater plugs for my radiator, or whatever it is...would it help to plug that in? Help
Kenosha Warrior
go plug the heater in, get a bottle of gasline Antifreeze and a gallon or two of gas. That should do it, maybe a few oz's of gas in the TB
Eagle
I am confused. What do you mean it "chugs but won't turn over"? Turning over means that the starter is making the engine go around. Do you mean it turns over but won't fire? If so, have you checked for spark? Have you checked to see if the injector is squirting gas into the throttle body? Basically, you need three things for it to run: fuel, air, and spark. Air is usually not the problem, so investigate whether or not you have the other two. ekulrenlig
sorry, it turns over but won't fire. haven't had any problems before with spark. I figure it is something related to the cold. How can I check if the injector is squirting gas into the TB? I put about another half gallon of gas in with some gasoline anitfreeze and am digging out my long extension cord to plug it in. ekulrenlig
Nevermind, I got it going. The battery was a little weak, so I jumped it with another vehicle and finally got it to start up. Thanks.
