need help resetting emr on 91 comanche

How do you reset the emr (emissions maintenance reminder) light on the 91 comanche? I know that on the 90 and under models you simply replace it with a new one, but in the chilton's manual it says to reset it using the DRB (diagnostic readout box). I can't find anything else in the book about the DRB or EMR other than what have I mentioned here. Thanks.

I thought those timers were resettable:shrug:.....something about a small hole on the backside covered with a piece of tape. Pull the tape off and insert a small screwdriver (or toothpick) and it resets

 

Dunno for sure, I've never had one to fool with, but I read it somewhere on the internet

 

so it must be true :D

The "EMR" is only on the renix era 4.0's The newer ones ahve a check engine light just like every other truck now. So you need a DRB

for some reason that bulb appears to be missing on my 87... :wink:

On the 91 with OBD I syst. the light have to be re-seted by a scan tool.

 

I think the light comes on after a certain milage, to tell you its time to replace the O2 sensor (even if the O2 sensor is working perfect).
