axle shafts wont go in fully

hey there,

i have a dana 44,

re-sealed/bearings and a power lock locker,

shafts won't go in all the way? they go almost all the way, then they stop when half the bearing is in?

cracked the lid, looks like the shafts won't go all the way onto the spiders?

 

any ideas?

Did you check the spiders- axles for fit before assembling? Is the Cavity for the bearing race clean?

You're not trying to put the long shaft on the driver's side, are you? Sorry, had to ask. :D

The spiders and axles fit, I can get them to mesh together and turn, as for assembly, the p/o built it.
