Pioneer MJ Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I have several problems with this truck.I have replaced freeze plugs,fuel rail,rotors,pads,any normal repairs. I'm not doing so good on the electrical wirering for interior and exterior. To sum it all up, I think my trans is starting to slip :wall: . Does anyone know about these problems?

87Warrior Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 If you are converting to 4wd, you will need a new transmission anyhow. Replace with a good one and replace clutch (if manual) when it is all apart.
Pioneer MJ Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 It's auto,but thinking i can switch to manual...the cab has a punch plate for the shifter,so thats what makes me think its possible. What kind of trans should i be looking for?
Dadinator Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 In my signature is a link to my build thread. I switched from the stock AW4 transmission to the AX-15 from a Jeep Cherokee of the same year. That is one of things I did during my build. (Still in progress).
