GM-Comanche
I'm putting the new dash out of newer cherokee in my MJ, anyone know how i go about the vin numbers on the two. Easy as just switching them? Legal issues?
jimoshel
Check with the MVD or State Police. I HAVE NOT DONE THIS but remove the dash pad. Cut out the the VIN tag far enough from the tag so when you weld it back in place the dash pad hides the weld. :D Or just swap the whole dash. shelbyluvv
Drill out the rivets on the vin that is not needed from the new dash. Heat the rivets on the needed vin from the under side of the old dash. Apply pressure with a screwdriver to pop the rivets out. Make holes in the new dash so the rivets on the good vin plate will fit snugly in. Apply epoxy to the bottom side to keep them in place.
