Blue88Comanche
My rear Dana 44 has a ratio of 3.54 and my XJ donor has a Dana 30 with a ratio of 3.55, can those gears be used together? the plan is to use a NP242, I like the idea of full time 4wd when it rains. most of the time i will be using 2wd thanks
Pete M
yes, those ratios are perfectly compatible. the difference in number is caused by the difference in gear sizes in bigger and smaller axles. the Dana 30 and Dana 44 have different numbers of teeth and that's as close as the manufacturer could come to the same ratio. other examples are 3.07/3.08 and 4.10/4.
91dieseljeep
Yes those will work together i have the exact same axle combination as that and have not noticed any negative aspects of being .01 difference between the front and rear.
