comanchekid
so i was just going to do some of the rear wiring and noticed on the 2000 xj wiring for the fuel pump has 4 wires and the 88 mj only has 3?? does that mean i can't use my fuel pump and i need to used the 2000 stuff or how do i get rid of the one wire?? any help is greatly appreciated thank you
shelbyluvv
You can't use the stock MJ wiring if you ever want the gauge to read. Read the ONYX build for some fuel system pointers. There are a few others who have used Dakota tanks and Copperhead Fab rings to put a 97+ XJ pump in a stock tank.
comanchekid
ok thanx :) i was thinking of changing the tank but its not looking good so i want to just use the stock 88 tank and sender and pump... is that going to be ok with my 2000 dash? or am i going to have issues wiring it like that
comanchekid
wow u changed it on me lol....so theres no way to do it with the stock tank with out the fab ring? i should probably try fabing the xj tank in the back where the spare tire goes i guess
shelbyluvv
I read your post wrong the first time. I edited my first post. See above. Talk to Ryan with the Rescue Green rig. He used a Copperhead Fab ring on a non slosh tray tank I think.
shelbyluvv
Dakota 18 gallon tank in the stock location or a TJ tank in the spare tire area are your best bets. The Copperhead Fab ring is a pretty sweet deal.
