  1. ok so i got them working ended up making my own "module" out of 4 relays wired together the only problem is when the blinkers are on...i get a smaller blink on the opposing side???? everything works fine except for that
  2. all of my grounds are connected to one should i make more grounds?
  3. . i got a converter and wired it in and nothing...?? maybe i need more grounds? the convert wires are white=ground red=brake green=right turn yellow=left turn brown= park/tail so i wired it where i cut off the bulbs with all the grounds into one on the frame.. i took both the majors (brake i believe) and wired them to the red wire then the right turn wire to the green... left to the yellow...and took both minors(running lights) and hooked them to brown But i get nothing also the reverse lights are not hooked up but the grounds are... i don't know if that helps any but I'm kinda lost what to do someone help
  4. have someone sit in front of your jeep and watch all the steering components while you turn it back and forth just to the point of resistance u don't need to really turn the vehicle... could be a tie rod end or really check the track bar
  5. perfect thank you :) now the question is there are seperate wires going to each tail light on the xj... do i need to go back further before the wires split and wire it in there or is there a different way?
  6. how did you wire the lights? I'm needing some help doing it viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31899
  7. ok so my tail lights are broken so i wanted to make some led ones... what i got is 3 lead leds for the stop brake and turn and i got another "driving Light" led for the reverse lights but I'm not to sure how to hook them up because the stock xj used a 3 light system verses me using a 2 light system....i tried wiring them a couple ways but won't work.... this is how i tried first What happens is when u turn on the turn signals it acts as if the emergency flashers are on... so then i tried this (just removing on major on one side) Then everything works fine like that but when the brake lights are on i get no blinker??? any help again is greatly appreciated thanx Justin Oh someone had mention a foreign to American tail light module or something? no clue where to find that i call some auto parts and they have no clue

  9. ugh now tail lights
  10. just curious what ground was it for you? and the donor didnt have power locks... so I'm not sure
  11. Thanx backdraft.... I got that figured out... Now on to the next thing I got everything hooked up besides some interior lighting(instrument panel wire for dome lights and wire for rear speakers nd light then the grounds under the seats are not connect thought they are just for seatbelt ground but not sure) and the tail lights are not connected (still have to extend the wires to reach) I extended the fuel pump wires with some wires that were for the rear door(rear wiper lic light and defrost) I hope I didn't mess something up there... But the problem is it will turn over but no fuel... I don't even hear the pump turn on when key is in acc... I dunno if I was just getting anxious to hear it run and I should attaching more but I thought I should have it connected enough to start???? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you Justin Oh I am using the stock xj tank sender and pump too
  12. ok so i feel like a jack @$$ and thought i would remember this but i can't lol the ac lines that go from the compressor one goes to the top of the accumulator and one goes into the firewall.... question is does the one that goes to the accumulator go to the left or the right spot on top on the accumulator? i think the one that comes from the ac goes to the left and the other coming out of firewall goes to the right spot on top???? am i right?
  13. sorry guys havent been updating... i have been dealing with fuel issues on another xj and mine so lots of gas but i got it figured out :) but the progress on mine: I got the 2000 gas tank installed where the spare used to go fuel lines all extended the motor tranny and tcase are in steering column installed and wiring hooked up the engine wiring harness computer fuse block and vacuum lines are all done the brake lines are all done( used 2000 brake booster and proportioning valve) did a tranny fluid change with filter New spark plugs lots of the small time consuming tedious stuff is done but more to come I will try and take some pictures today and get them up
  14. thanx i will probably do that down the road this is kinda budjet thing for now... i endend up moving the exhaust and putting the stock cherokee tank where the spare tire would have gone..ill try and get some pics up later
  15. wow u changed it on me lol....so theres no way to do it with the stock tank with out the fab ring? i should probably try fabing the xj tank in the back where the spare tire goes i guess
  16. ok thanx :) i was thinking of changing the tank but its not looking good so i want to just use the stock 88 tank and sender and pump... is that going to be ok with my 2000 dash? or am i going to have issues wiring it like that
  17. so i was just going to do some of the rear wiring and noticed on the 2000 xj wiring for the fuel pump has 4 wires and the 88 mj only has 3?? does that mean i can't use my fuel pump and i need to used the 2000 stuff or how do i get rid of the one wire?? any help is greatly appreciated thank you
  18. HAHAHA can't wait.... that would be great but on the other hand the SWAP reallly isnt that hard it is just very time consuming with alot of this this  and this :huh???: and i guess i should tell how i even got this thing..... a guy called my shop and asked if anyone was interested in a comanche so being me i said of course i will always look at one...so he brought it in and explained to me that it couldnt go over 25 mph but overall the MJ was in great shape very mineute amouts of rust and also not many dents. (I already knew what was wrong with it, having had prior problems with xjs and mjs) i asked him what he wanted and he said "there is something seriously wrong with thing so $450?" I counter offered at $350 and and in my hand the title came and out of the parking lot he went   After had been gone for about 30 minutes i came back out of the shop with a sledge hammer :wrench: and went straight for the cat  spent about 2 minutes smashing the cat....then hopped in the cab and started her up! And guess what Revved up like a charm  took it around the block and everything worked great!!! I was very happy with my purchase :clapping: and i remember thinking to myself "if only this guy knew he would be doing one of these :wall: and i do one of these  well she has been through a lot of running and a ax 15 swap and used motor swap but now this swap
  19. posted twice whoops VVVVVV
  20. My MJ is that same brown color ;) although it looks like it was a light brown color before hand....
  21. No i wasnt trying to be a jerk i guess i am one of the lucky ones to have gotten my 3rd MJ with little to no rust on it... i guess thats one positive to having worked at a jeep parts shop ;) (i don't anymore tho) and yeah yeah yeah i will try and get a better camera (although i figured that most of you know what you are looking at in the pictures even though the quality isnt so good but still shows what you need to see) but yes agreed i will try to get a different camera and yes it primed and painted and i also put another coat of paint right before i lay the insulation in but thank you for the advice...CHEERS
  22. ok well i will be working on that today so i will let you know how that goes hopefully i can get some pics too
  23. thats a really good question haha I'm just going to take a guess: tear apart of mj =about 4-5 hours only because i have disassembled quite a few mjs/ xjs so i know where everything is and what exactly needs to be pulled... i know the first time i pulled one apart i took a bunch of stuff apart that didnt need to takin apart sanding and painting= about 2 hours custom fab/relocation of things= about 4 hours lol took my times installing of dash and steering column bracket = about 3 hrs it was kinda a pita misc work on it = about another say 4 hours so so far kinda just guessing i have i have about 17 or 18 hrs i think haha havent really been keeping track
  24. thank you and will do :) I have been doing pretty good soo far and guys sorry about the crappy pic all i have is a scratched up old i phone so pics arent too good
