RockMJ
Hey everyone, I'm in the process of a complete interior teardown and makeover on my MJ and when I was wiring up my new b-pillar lights I noticed another cable up there. Its a pink with a black tracer and I was wondering what this is for? I do plan on adding a Nissan Frontier third brake light on the cab in the next few weeks so I was wondering is this cable for a utility light or a third brake light? here's the cable I'm speaking of Thanks for the input guys! ParadiseMJ
You can wire a cargo light/third brake light using one from another vehicle. The wiring for the cargo light in my 88 is in fact behind my Pioneer dash set up, and it's factory labeled. Just a switch and a little wire, you could be all lit up back there. The hardest part for me was actually taking the plunge and drilling and cutting into the roof of my cab. It's custom that looks stock or slightly updated. RockMJ
Thanks guys! Where exactly would I look for the wiring in the dash? Or does this wire send power to the bed lights when the doors are opened like modern pickups? I'm looking for an LED third brake light/cargo light setup for the MJ so I'm open to options if anyone has any input on specific lights RockMJ

The OEM switch looks like this (one on the right)
