VolsJK
Clearance Clarance! Cutting this out to make it flush with tailgate? What's your plan to cover it up? Just curious. About to do a bumper build as well.

VolsJK
Plazma cutters. Are. Awesome! Nothing like slicing through. 25" steel like cardboard. These cuts.
A-man930
The mounts are going to pass completely through the box tube of the bumper.
VolsJK
The mounts are going to pass through So what exactly will it look like when you close off the frame? Have a mock-up pic?
A-man930
The frame is staying open. I just added material to the sides to fill in the "low spots" around the shackle mounts. These are the mounts (guess I never put up a picture of them.) Bed was cut to allow for their height.

A-man930
only 110mm 10x1.5 bolts I could find weren't threaded quite far enough so I cut them a little further. Crude, but it'll work.
A-man930
I'm going to officially put it out there: there are many, many things about this project that I am NOT satisfied with (fit and finish type stuff mainly.) I've underestimated the effects of being a fab newbie has on a project like this. I just keep telling myself it's gonna turn out fine and I'll be better equipped for the next one!
