Coil Overs?

Recommended Posts

Anyonw running coilover's or seen a manche with them? I have thought about running a set (maybe even just in the front) and only reaching about 6 inches or so of lift... been done? or are they only run on thoughs extreme little buggy things.

I understand the amount of work involved in doing it, I just thought that it would be neat, and something you don't see everyday, especially on a truck you don't see on the trails everyday. If you bought it as a kit or something for aan XJ (just the front) wouldn't it just bolt, and/or weld right in to an MJ? I have seen some xj's rolling around on coilovers, but mainly western rock riders... I like the muddy, dirty, rock trails in the east way to much to own just a buggy... besides where would i carry my cooler? anyone have pics of an MJ or XJ's on coilovers? thanks

Josh

An XJ kit should fit as well as it would fit an XJ. But, be prepared to cut things up.

I've never seen a coilover kit for an XJ. But I've never looked. For the most part you can get as good of performace out of regular coils/shocks. If you're building an ulta-light vehicle, yeah, coilovers could work.

whats wrong with Truggy's :hmm: I am getting ready to order my 18" Walker Evans coil overs the 2nd week of January. What DC said is right. Plan on doing lots of bracing and other things to make it so you rig willl "work" correctly. With coil overs starting at around 250+ this is not one of those cheap projects ppl jump into.
