86ComancheXNate Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Will a 97+ XJ front bumper fit on an 86? Or will I have to make some modifications to the bumper or the truck?
philbert001 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 If I'm not mistaken, as long as you have the 97-01 brackets, they'll bolt to the frame, but i don't think the old brackets will bolt to the newer bumper.
philbert001 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 you'll also have to trim your fenders, or switch to 97-01 fenders, as the end caps go all the way back to the wheel opening.
86ComancheXNate Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 Cool thanks. Actually all I was originally wanting was the brackets not the bumper. A friend of mine gave them to me because he had welded some tow point brackets onto his bumper brackets for his 97 xj. but then he got an offroad bumper from jcr and didnt need them. So he gave me the brackets and the bumper just incase the brackets didnt work with my old bumper.
