Blue88Comanche Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I put in some V8 ZJ Variable rate springs and saw that it looked rather compressed.. are my sway bar links too short? thanks
freakjeep93 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 easy way to find out. take the link off and see what happens
Blue88Comanche Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 ya.. i thought of that too but i am at work right now.. thought i would ask
freakjeep93 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 lol if i remember right anything over 2 inches of lift and the sway bar links start limiting things..
com_mako Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Variable rate coils springs are made like that this is why they are variable so everything is normal
Blue88Comanche Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 So its ok that the coils are touching? Alright then.
com_mako Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 So its ok that the coils are touching? Alright then. yes it is oki I have some moog progressif coils on my MJ and the look the same as your pic they should ride a lot better than normal coils
Blue88Comanche Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 yes they ride a lot better.. So much better that mom wants me to redo the Suspension on her KJ. I just need longer shocks for the back i think and i will be done with the suspension on this MJ.
HOrnbrod Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 In mid-1991 the factory sway bar end link length was changed from 7-1/4" to 8-1/4" on all MJs and XJs. If you have a small lift up to 3" you should use the longer end links to keep the sway bar end a bit farther away from the coils and orientated correctly.
