I managed to twist the top off while i was trying to remove it.. now the bolt is too short to re attach it.. any good brands or types? I am putting on v8 grand cherokee coil springs.. I think some one said that is about a 1 inch lift...

i know ill get hell for this but i run without mine. have ever since ive had the truck. ive got Rough Country ones but i don't use them. i know its stupid not to on highway but i just don't. i drive slowly in that thing anyway.

 

now if i was to actually go somewhere in it, id prolly throw them on but while running these roads i don't.

I'm the same way. my truck never leaves this little town and doesnt go on the highway so i just took them right off BUT if i was going to be driving at highway speeds i would definitely have them on. it is totally unsafe not to have them on when travelling at speed and even at low speed driving around town I'm thinking that not having them on is promoting tire-wear.

from my understand, the ones off a TJ are about 2" longer, and the ones from a later XJ are 1-2' longer ( not sure of the exact lengths but easy to find out) they are probably perfect for your purposes.
