XJ interior seats work in MJ ?

Recommended Posts

No year of seat bracket is a direct bolt in from XJ to MJ (the floor is different). Almost any year seat will fit if you remove the bracket from your current seat, bench OR bucket, and re-install them on the new seat. Do not get seats with the curved (rocker or rocket) sliders. They will seat you about 2-3 inches taller. If you are 5'5", OK, if you're 6'+ you'll be rubbinbg the headliner with your head.

The height difference also heavily depends on the style of XJ seat you're using. The "rocket-ship" style ones out of a 2-door XJ sit higher than the regular 2-door XJ doors that just slide back and forth (I'm speaking about both when they're mounted to MJ seat mounts taken from a bench seat).

Notice how the XJ straight and MJ bucket use the same tracks just different pedestals. The only other difference other than the floor pedestals/brackets is the MJ seat tilted forward for easier access to the cargo area behind the seats. A XJ bucket on straight tracks only slides forward like terawombat said so it makes it a little more difficult to get behind the seats.
